The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane presented three Hilux Pick Up Vans and thirty three motorcycles worth millions of Naira to the Nigerian Army to help in the battle against banditry and kidnapping in Shiroro, Munya and Rafi Local Government Areas of the State.
According to a statement signed by the Information Officer SSG’s Office, Lawal Tanko, speaking shortly after presenting the keys of the vehicles and motorcycles to the Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, Brig. Gen. Gideon Ajetonmobi, the SSG said the gesture was to assist security agencies in the State to help put an end to the insecurity that is bedeviling some part of the State.
Ahmed Matane disclosed that the vehicles and motorcycles would further enhance the logistic capabilities of our security agencies in the bid to secure Niger State and its people.
He stressed that the present administration will continue to vote resources necessary to address our security challenges and support the security agencies in the State with a view to achieving the set objectives and goals.
The SSG then called on the people of the State to be very vigilant, security conscious and report all suspicious characters, movements or objects to security agents, adding that security is everybody’s business and that all hands must be on deck in complementing government efforts toward safeguarding lives and property of citizens.
In his remarks, the Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, Brig. Gen. Gideon Ajetonmobi appreciated the cordial relationship between Government and security agencies in the battle against the scourge of armed banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the State.
