Kaduna State Commissioner For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Sadiq Mamman Lagos has advocated transparency, accountability and prudent management of resources as surest ways of delivering dividends of democracy to people at the grassroots.
Mamman Lagos asserted that hallmark of good governance could be seen in the way and manner elected officials trusted with positions of authority uphold fiscal responsibility, rules and regulations guiding public expenditure.
The Commissioner made the remarks at Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting for the Month of October 2024.
Speaking further, Mamman Lagos who presided over technical session of the JAAC meeting which had in attendance all 23 chairmen of local governments in the state scored Governor Uba Sani high in areas of open governance anchored on transparency, accountability and regard for rule of law.
On her part, Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Hadiza Balarabe who chaired the plenary session of the Allocation Committee Meeting said the administration of Uba Sani would leave no stone unturned to ensure citizens enjoy needed social and economic infrastructures required for a good life.
She pointed out that the SUSTAIN Agenda of the present administration in the state was fast yielding positive fruits which result would manifest in growth and development of the entire state.
She urged the newly elected chairmen of local governments to deliver on their campaign promises by prioritizing welfare of the people so citizens at the grassroots would have sense of belonging.
