As preparations towards having a successful Kaduna International Film Festival continue to gather momentum, former Director General of Media and Publicity to former Governor Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State, Ahmed Maiyaki has urged Corporate Organizations, Private and Public Individuals to financially support the upcoming Social event slated to hold in Kaduna between 20th and 24th of August 2019.
He made the appeal at a stakeholders meeting aimed at brainstorming on ways to make the Film Festival a Successful one.
In attendance were representatives from National Film and Censorship Board , Studio 24 , Kaduna Ministry of Youth and Sports, Actors’ Guild , Media and other Stakeholders.This year’s festival has the theme ” The Impact of Entertainment on Youth and Girl Child in the Society ,” is expected to showcase various Talents and Art Exhibitions.
Maiyaki said Kaduna Film Festival ( KADIFF) was apt and timely as it would provide an avenue for youth to converge and showcase their talents which he said would help in reducing the menace of youth restiveness, drug abuse, kidnapping and other antisocial behaviors in the Society.
He lamented increase in Social vices among Youth in the State and attributed it to negligence by the Society of its teeming population, which he said if left unchecked had the potency to cause a state of anarchy in the Nigerian Society.
He challenged big companies in Kaduna to as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes support and encourage programmes such as the upcoming KADIFF for the benefit of their host community according to him they (companies) would be protecting their business interests against youth restiveness.
Earlier in his speech, Founder of KADIFF, Israel Kassim Audu said this year’s edition of the Film Festival would be bigger and more colourful as important personalities in Film and Entertainment Industry such as Segun Arinze, Ali Baba, Ali Nuhu, Rahma Sadau would be gracing the event to mentor young and upcoming Artistes in Kaduna and neighbouring States.
He assured that films from other industries such as Ghollywood and some big names from England and Holland would as well according to him add colour to the August event.
” There will be various sessions such as ; films screening and reviews, exhibitions, mentoring , among others which will serve different purposes of adding glamour and values to the event.
” I am appealing to all stakeholders in this project to support in whatever ways they can to make it a success. ” He said.
He mentioned Africa Magic, Itel, Unifoam, Studio 24, Surprise Etcetera among others as Sponsors of the event.
