Seek Face Of God To End Security Challenges, Army Clergy Urges Officers, Men

The Director Chaplain Services, (Protestant), Col (Venerable) Ishkumbo Gwom Mairiga has called on Officers’ and men of the Nigerian Army to remain steadfast and seek the face of God to address the current security challenges confronting the nation. 
The Director made the call when he paid a courtesy visit on the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Takuti Usman in his office at Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment Abuja today.
Col Mairiga while stating the purpose of his visit noted that it was part of his familiarization tour of all Military Chaplains since assumption of office, adding that Guards Brigade is task with enormous responsibility of protecting the seat of power as well as the Federal Capital, hence the need to visit and pray for the Commander and his troops who is saddled with such task to continue to succeed in the assigned task. 
He commended the Brigade Commander and his field Commanders as well as men of the Brigade  for keeping faith in the almighty God who has kept the country safe despite all the security challenges and urged them not to loss faith in God who has brought the country this far. While encouraging them to remain dedicated to service of defending the ordinary citizens who in turn pray for their safety. 
The spiritual leader also called on spouses of the men in the field to continue in their prayers as God does not fail those who trust in him. 
Responding, the representative of the Commander who also doubles as the Commander Guards Brigade Garison, Lt Col Joshua Okwoli while appreciating the Spiritual Leader noted that the brigade is indeed favoured to have him visit the Commander, his officers and men stressing that his prayers as well as good counselling has continued to impact positively on the Brigade and its environs. 
He also commended the various zonal chaplains for their good work in ensuring that the worship places are properly managed and maintained towards providing a conducive atmosphere for worship, pointing the ongoing remodelling and renovation of the various chapels in all barracks within the brigade as a good step in the right direction.
The Commander further urged them to keep up the good work and assured him and his team of all necessary support to the various spiritual leaders to enable them carry out their religious task within the areas of responsibilities. 
The Chaplain Director was accompanied on the visit by his zonal chaplain and the visit was attended by staff officers of the brigade.
