Operation Tura Takaibango: Be Watchful, Remain Aggressive – GOC Advises Troops

The Acting General Officer Commanding (Ag GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, Brigadier General Adelokun Abdulwahab Eyitayo has advised troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, 26 Task Force Brigade, 402 Special Forces Brigade and elements of Multinational Joint Task Force (Cameroonian Defence Forces) to be watchful and careful of their routes/where they step on in the course of their operations to avoid stepping on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and to also remain very aggressive in all operations.
He gave the advice on Wednesday, 24 March 2021 while addressing troops at the assembly area, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abu-Ali shooting range, Sambisa forest.
During the address, the Ag GOC appreciated the troops doggedness and determination exhibited in the first thrust and charged them to put in more effort in exterminating the remnants of BHTs. The Ag GOC also urged the troops to remain committed and dedicate themselves in finally crushing the insurgents and their collaborators. He however, concluded the address with dramatic slogan “do something before something do you”. Which literarily means that (be the first to kill enemy before enemy kills you). This slogan was hailed by troops as they all chorused “do something before something do you”.
At the same event, Commander 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Waidi Shaibu prayed for God’s guidance and protection throughout the operation. He also request God to drain the pockets of insurgent sponsors and grant the Nigeran Army success over them.
