…calls on new emir to consolidate late father’s legacies
Former Federal Legislator, Shehu Bawa ABG has joined prominent Nigerians in sending a goodwill message to Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum for presenting the staff of office to new Emir of Biu, Mai Mustapha Umar [2] in a ceremony attended by notable Nigerians.
He also congratulated member representing Biu, Bayo, Shani and Kwayakasar Federal Constituency, Hon. Aliyu Mukhtar who he said had done so much in attracting dividends of democracy to his people, enjoining the lawmaker to work in close synergy with the new emir of Biu in supporting Governor Zulum’s efforts in restoring peace and development to the state in the midst of insurgency.
ABG expressed optimism in the ability of the first class Emir to unite his people and deliver on core mandates of finding a sustainable peace, progress and development of the entire Emirate.
ABG who was Special Adviser to Former Speaker Dogara on Special Duties charged People of Biu Emirate and the entire state to be law-abiding to constituted authorities, stating that socio-economic strides could only be achievable in an atmosphere of harmony and adherence to law and order.
According to him the emergence of the new emir should be seen by all as the will of God and a blessed providence for the Biu Emirate, adding that Mai Mustapha the Second needed the prayers of all in the kingdom irrespective of religion or ethnicity to succeed.
“I am optimistic the traditional ruler will hit the ground running by mobilizing his subjects on security consciousness and Community policing in order to achieve lasting peace for progress and development.
“I strongly believe he will be just, fair and compassionate towards his subjects as exemplified by his late father and Predecessors.
“The task of mobilizing his people to key in and support Governor Zulum’s policies on health, education, economy and human capital development is not an easy one and could not be achieved without the cooperation of the people” he said.
