100 Access Free Eye Services As Reps Member Ahmed Munir Reaches Out To Constituents

In his effort to complement Governor Uba Sani’s SUSTAIN Agenda on health, member House of Representatives Ahmed Munir has reached out to constituents with free eye services, including surgeries on cataract and eye glasses.

The free eye services in partnership with Sight Savers, a private firm and with support from Border Community Development Agency saw over 100 individuals with one form of sight defect or the other receiving treatments free of charge.

The federal legislator underscored his desire to ensure more programmes of such magnitude meant to cater for the medical needs of Lere people were attracted to people at the grassroots because they could be described, according to him as the most vulnerable in the society.

While commending Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to providing dividends of democracy to the people, the federal legislator called on people to exercise patience and be supportive of government policies, saying gestation period would soon be over and usher in era of reaping the fruits of good policies of the government of the day.

“I want to assure people that they won’t be abandoned to cater for basic needs by themselves without the timely intervention of government to ensure dividends of democracy get to their doorsteps.

“We have been rolling out consistently various far reaching programmes covering basic areas of human needs for the benefit of our people so they could feel the impact of government.

“This free eye service for example is meant to reach the most vulnerable members in my constituency with different eye defects but could not afford to access medical services.

“Many were given glasses after undergoing tests while some had to go through surgeries for cataract, ” he said.

A beneficiary Musa shehu disclosed that cataract surgery was successfully completed to correct the defective eye sight he had suffered for years.

He commended the fed legislator for initiating the free eye outreach in Lere.
