ABU VS Withdrawn Ph.D Student, Court Adjoins Case To Jan. 8

A Federal High Court in Kaduna on Monday has adjoined a case between Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and a withdrawn Ph.D student, Jamilu Auwalu Adamu to January 8, 2019 for continuation of hearing.
The counsel to the plaintiff Sule Shuaib who is challenging the unlawful withdrawal of his client told the honourable judge that he was in the court to close the case base on the evidence available.
The counsel to the plaintiff after a cross examination of the evidence argued that his client was not formally withdrawn from the institution.
While defending his client, the counsel said in a list of registered students for the academic session under review signed by Dr. Abubakar Yahaya (2nd defendant) and Professor Babangida Sani (3rd defendant) both of the Department of Mathematics of the university as Major and Minor supervisors respectively, five other students were registered after the closing date.
Following the arguments from both lawyers the case was adjoined for hearing as stated above.
It could be recalled that the plaintiff had earlier written a petition to the ICPC alleging that his supervisors were not competent to handle his project.
He also alleged that the supervisors wanted to benefit from his academic materials by ensuring that their names appeared as co-authors in a project they never contributed to.
